CATI — Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing — is the quickest and most economical method for covering a large sample spread across the country. We now run it with AI assistance: predictive dialling, automatic transcription of open answers and real-time detection of suspicious patterns, with a human interviewer leading the conversation.

How it works

The telephone sample is built with quotas by region, age and sex.

Predictive dialling cuts the dead time between calls.

The interviewer administers the questionnaire; AI transcribes and classifies open answers.

The recording remains available for audit and for re-reading verbatims.

Frequently asked questions

Is the interview conducted by a machine?

No. A person always leads the conversation. AI handles what it does better than a human: dialling, transcribing, coding open answers and flagging when a response pattern does not add up. Signing off an interview is still the supervisor’s call.
